Who I AmA roleplayer who has been co-authoring stories on and off for (well) over a decade. As you've probably surmised by now, I go by Erica. (And no, it's not my real name.)
I do not take this (or myself) overly seriously. This is a hobby for me, and one that I enjoy immensely, but it is not real life. My first rule is that real life always comes first. My StylePara to multi-para roleplay style (that is, each person writes at least one paragraph, usually multiple paragraphs, per post), although quality trumps quantity. I write in third person, past tense.
What I'm Looking ForSomeone willing to co-create a story and world with me.
While I'm open to jumping in with a basic concept, I like plan out the story arc with my writing partner in broad strokes, with room for surprises or adaptation built in. In my experience, understanding the world and where we're going with the story goes a long way toward preventing the story from dying out due to lack of direction. I often create custom characters, so if you have a story idea, let's talk. |
What I writeMy favorite genres are fantasy, modern supernatural, and superhero. I've dabbled in Steampunk as well, with mixed success. Although I've written in the Marvel & DC universe, I prefer playing original characters.
I enjoy writing stories with lots of internal conflict and shades of grey. Romance is always nice, although I generally make my characters work for it, because insta-love doesn’t interest me. (Love at first sight gets old fast - unless there's some other conflict introduced to keep it interesting.) Ultimately, my goal (aside from having fun writing an interesting story) is to give my partner content to work with while advancing the story. I gravitate toward writing female main characters, but I have played males as well. I'm not opposed to doubling and I usually end up playing multiple NPCs to round out the world. If you're of the same mind and end up writing multiple characters as well, then please introduce yourself. If you are into world building and you've gotten this far, nice to meet you; please contact me. |
